Call for Proposals for 2017 – Creating Positive Climates for Youth Conference

The Planning Team of the Maine Event: Creating Positive Climates for Youth Conference is requesting proposals for learning sessions for the 2017 event.

The two-day event will be held on Thursday, June 29 and Friday, June 30 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine. This year’s event is the combined annual conference of the Positive Youth Development Institute and the Collaboration for Perpetual Innovation. This national event has a strong following and has drawn presenters and participants from as many as seventeen states, Canada, and Scotland.

We are seeking proposals that highlight effective programs and strategies that promote positive youth development by creating positive climates in school, out-of-school, youth programming, and community settings. We are structuring the core of the conference around the elements of positive climate as outlined by the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE), which are Engagement, Safety, and Environment. Each learning session is 90 minutes in length.
